It`s a lazy Saturday morning and the time is 6:30 am by my wall clock. It`s pouring dogs and cats outside my window. Holding my cup of coffee in my hand I peep out of my window to see the rain falling at the same time trying to plan my day. I pause for a brief moment and then realise that practically there is nothing much to do accept for little errands to milk shop and news paper stall or may be to the vegetable market near my house. Just then a thought ran across my mind I picked up my mobile from the table near my bed where it lay facedown and called my friend Jayesh who by the way is an audiophile and has good collection of music (almost all genre ( almost ?))`
And asked about his schedule for the day, he said was planning
to buy a new headset which will be compatible with his HTC M9 and Apple ipad . I said to him that there are offers running at inorbit vashi and he readily agreed for it . So we decided to meet at 10: 30 am below my house. I had already done my research by then and then the time came to leave my house. It's still drizzling and I get down my staircase praying to GOD to keep the weather dry. We travelled on palmbeach road towards our destination. We straight rushed to hyper city just to find that wired headsets were out of stock and will be available next week. Quiet upset we went to 2nd floor to check portronics muff at jumbo electronics. But there were non as they no more had it as they very rearly got sold. Then we yanked up our gps and drove towords Bombay to the wholesale market of electronics. It was 3 floored building with 750 stores for all gizmos and repair work for laptop and cellphones. We went to one shop and did window shopping and finally came to know that Bluetooth headsets were much cheaper say $9.5 or INR 600. So we zeroed out on JBL and BOSE both were for same piece and there was no warranty of any sort as they were first copy and not original , then we dropped the idea and decided to return back to base . And when we reached vashi we saw an add of dell store there which said back to school offer for all and we decided to pay them a visit. Upon entering the store we saw that there were good discounts on wireless headsets and speakers. We zeroed out on dell headset which was selling as an
special offer for the day and our eyes gleamed with joy when we heard the price of 1200 INR as opposed to 3500 INR mrp
on the box.
Headset Box Packed.
It was packed in a nice tamper proof packing , so we asked for a demo and thought the sales person will unbox the whole thing for us and demo it and make the bill as my friend liked the product but he gave us the demo of the headset from his demo unit and trust me sound was good for a midrange wireless headset. After all it is not a BOSE. The headset lacked little in bass and output was not as good as Sony but who are we to complain if we see the design and price of the product. Ear muffs fit well and block upto 90% of noise as it has some kind of noise cancellation feature. Which indeed is amazing at this price range.
These are the specs :-
- 400 hrs of standby tim
- Auto-switch music-call
- Super-light
- Weight 72 gms
- Working Distance : 10m
DM5710BT
- Stereo Bluetooth headset with back-hang style
- Supports Bluetooth A2DP, AVRCP, and HS/HF profiles
- Features Software & CVC echo/noise cancellation
- Foldable design provides maximum portability
- Wirelessly enjoy stereo music from all A2DP-enableddevices, such mobile phones, PDA, PC etc
- Switch automatically from remote controls on the headset allow you to play, skip and select your music tracks
The overall output of music was good but the drawback was USB type B socket and cable (sounded like someone has come from prehistoric black and white into color).
product and contents are neatly arranged in a hard portable harddisk type carry case.
But now it comes in a packing like this
On our charge and playback it took 3 hrs t charge and gave 22 hrs continius playback. We tested the headset at belapaur station for noise cancellation and it blurted 90% of noise for us. And for the rest of people they kept looking at what we were doing with an awe. We ended our day on a good note. A cord well striked and a melody well played.
I would personally recommend this to all of you as it doet toesn't burn a hole in your pocket and with 400 hrs of standby it is a cool gadget to hang out with.
